Outgoing Personalities in Tomodachi Life

How the Outgoing personality works in Tomodachi Life (Energetic in EU): chart range, the four types, example slider setups, and compatibility notes.

Outgoing

The Outgoing personality in Tomodachi Life is one of the four corners of the personality chart, and it holds the game's most expressive types: Charmer, Go-Getter, Dynamo, and Merrymaker. In the European version the same group is called Energetic, while the name Outgoing itself carries over from the 3DS game.

On the chart, the Outgoing corner is the top-right quadrant. Every Outgoing Mii has a Movement + Speech total between 8 and 15, which makes them quick-moving and direct, paired with an Energy + Attitude total between 8 and 15, which keeps them lively and expressive. That combination is what makes the group feel big, social, and hard to ignore.

The four types inside the corner are not interchangeable. Charmer and Merrymaker share the M+S 8-11 band, while Go-Getter and Dynamo live in M+S 12-15; on the E+A axis, Merrymaker and Dynamo sit at 8-11 and Charmer and Go-Getter at 12-15. Those differences in totals are exactly what separate a magnetic Charmer from a maxed-out Go-Getter.

On the full Tomodachi Life personality chart, this group covers M+S scores 8-15 and E+A scores 8-15. Its in-game color direction is built around pinks, reds, and oranges.

How to make an Outgoing Mii

Open the Mii personality settings and adjust Movement, Speech, Energy, and Attitude so that M+S lands between 8 and 15 and E+A lands between 8 and 15. You can leave Overall wherever it feels right for the character, because it is not part of the personality calculation.

Because the Outgoing quadrant holds four different types, the exact totals decide which one you get. The four setups below are working examples from the chart data — one per member — each with the step numbers to copy.

How the Outgoing personality works

Every Mii on the Tomodachi Life personality chart is placed by two totals. Movement + Speech (M+S) runs left to right, and Energy + Attitude (E+A) runs top to bottom, with both totals running from 0 to 15. The Outgoing group occupies the top-right quadrant — M+S 8-15 and E+A 8-15 — the only corner where both totals run high.

The two ranges describe a very specific combination. A high M+S total means the Mii moves quickly and speaks directly, so Outgoing residents jump into conversations and make themselves heard. A high E+A total keeps their energy intense and their attitude relaxed, which is why the same residents come across as lively rather than aggressive. The Overall slider is cosmetic for personality and can be set however you like.

The quadrant splits into four cells, each covering a 2x2 band of totals. Merrymaker takes M+S 8-11 with E+A 8-11: the easiestgoing member of the group, bubbly and quick to laugh. Charmer moves to M+S 8-11 with E+A 12-15: smooth, magnetic, and naturally good at drawing a crowd. Dynamo uses M+S 12-15 with E+A 8-11, which adds speed and directness while keeping the energy a notch below max: bold and fired-up. Go-Getter rounds out the corner at M+S 12-15 with E+A 12-15 — the chart's most intense cell, acting on pure impulse.

Outgoing behavior & traits

In the game, Outgoing Miis tend to come across as the island's social engines. Community observations describe them as lively, expressive, and quick to jump into conversations or island drama — the residents who react big, organize gatherings, and keep social scenes moving. The group's color direction is built around pinks, reds, and oranges, so an Outgoing Mii's home tends to sit in that same vivid, warm family.

Speech-wise, Outgoing types sit in the direct half of the slider, so they speak up easily and rarely let a silence stretch on. The high Energy and Attitude scores keep the delivery energetic and cheerful, which fans often describe as party energy: loud in the best way, expressive, and genuinely warm. That is why the group reads as outgoing rather than pushy — the directness always comes wrapped in good cheer.

Friendship-wise, the compatibility data on this site works at the group level: Miis from the same group tend to get along more easily, while pairs from different groups usually need a little more interaction. That makes the four Outgoing types natural friends for each other and slower friends for Considerate, Reserved, or Ambitious residents. Personality shapes friendship friction, but it does not decide romance.

How to change to the Outgoing personality

  1. 1

Select the Mii you want to change and open Edit Mii. In Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, the personality settings live inside the Mii editor.

  2. 2

Open the personality sliders. You will see Movement, Speech, Energy, Attitude, and Overall.

  3. 3

Aim for the Outgoing quadrant: keep Movement + Speech between 8 and 15, and Energy + Attitude between 8 and 15. The example setups below show one working configuration for each of the four types.

  4. 4

To land a specific type, adjust the totals inside the quadrant. Merrymaker and Dynamo use E+A 8-11; Charmer and Go-Getter use E+A 12-15. Merrymaker and Charmer stay at M+S 8-11, while Dynamo and Go-Getter push to M+S 12-15.

  5. 5

Leave Overall wherever you like. It only changes flavor text and quirks, not the personality result.

  6. 6

Confirm the change. The Mii will save under one of the four Outgoing types, with EU names like Adventurer or Bubbly depending on the version. Other combinations inside the same ranges work too, so treat these setups as reliable examples rather than the only way in.

Outgoing in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is the Switch follow-up to the 3DS original, and it keeps the same 16-personality system and the same four groups. The Outgoing corner still covers M+S 8-15 with E+A 8-15, and community comparisons indicate the hidden personality values line up with the 3DS data, so the chart on this site applies to the new game as well.

In the new game, the Outgoing personality in Tomodachi Life keeps its lively, expressive reading, and the regional naming continues: the group appears as Energetic in the European version, while the NA name Outgoing carries over from the 3DS game. One member keeps its name in both regions — Charmer stays Charmer — while the others become Adventurer (Go-Getter), Hot-Blooded (Dynamo), and Bubbly (Merrymaker). Exact animations and dialogue can change between releases, but the personality result follows the same two totals. As always, this site is an unofficial fan resource, not Nintendo data.
